We are committed to producing safe, environmentally friendly products in a way that protects the earth and all the living things that share it. To that end we own and maintain a 4,000,000 hectare timber reserve. We harvest our own hardwood in compliance with all local and international standards for sustainable forestry management. In addition, we have earned the right to use the FSC Mixed Sources Label, which ensures:
- Our wood comes from FSC certified forests
- We use recycled materials, or other sustainable materials in our products
- We follow the 10 FSC principles that, among other things, ensure the rights of indigenous peoples, the fair treatment of labor, proper product sourcing and chain of custody documentation, and environmental impact management. Learn more at FSC.ORG.
We are CARB 2 compliant, meaning that our composite wood products (laminate and engineered wood floors) adhere to the stringent requirements set by the State of California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulating the emission of formaldehyde.
We are compliant with the U.S. Lacey Act of 2008 which bans commerce in illegally sourced plants and their products, including timber and wood products.
We have ISO 14001: 2004 and ISO 9001: 2000 certifications, earned for our continuous and systematic approach to product quality and measuring and improving our environmental impact.
